Welcome! I am Stefanie Bailer, Professor at the Department of Political Science at the University of Basel since November 1, 2015. Prior, I was an Assistant Professor for Global Governance at the ETH Zurich (2009-2015) and a lecturer at the University of Zurich.
My research interests are in comparative politics. More specifically, parliamentarism and in particular decision making by parliamentarians, party group discipline, careers, as well as international decision-making and negotiations in particular in the EU and other negotiations.
Currently, my team and I study trust in politicians from Switzerland, Germany and the UK (see the SNF- and DFG-funded WEAVE-project “Trust in Politicians”), the social media and image use by politicians, as well as corruption and its perception. For more information, see Research.
